During this series, we’ve been talking about recovering momentum; getting back to the place you belong. What area of life has needed most of your attention?

Getting back can mean refocusing on goals, dreams, calling, and passion. It can mean rearranging life to keep that which is most important at the front. What is that for you? What’s your life all about?

In the midst of what you are chasing after, how do Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:33 apply?

Legg til notater

Matthew 6:33

Matthew 6:33 NLT

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Seeking first His kingdom is not about changing what you are doing, but rather changing the reason you are doing it. How would your day-to-day life be different if you lived seeking His kingdom first?

Jesus gave us clear instructions about what our lives should be focused on in Matthew 28:19-20. Our task is found in the command “make disciples.” But where does this disciple making occur? Some see the opening part of verse 19 (“therefore go”) as an indication that we must leave where we are and go somewhere else to make disciples. A better understanding of this is found in the phrase “as you are going.” That is, as you are going through the normal events of life, make disciples. So the question is where are you going? What are the normal activities of your life? And, what would it take for you to make disciples along the way?

Memorize this week:

Matthew 28:19-20 NLT

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
